The flower season begins with the huge “King Alfred” daffodils, some years mid-April, others in early May.
The fancy narcissus are early bloomers.
The tulips begin blooming mid-May.
Fragrant lilacs bloom mid-late May. They last best if picked when they are 1/3 open.
The first of the peonies bloom in late May.
